Athletic Conditioning on the Reformer Learn to take your
clients’ game to the next level in this sports conditioning
workshop. Improve strength, power and agility through
new variations of familiar exercises that challenge unilateral
movement, weight transference and core stability. This
workshop has a special focus on the core, arms, legs,
shoulders and hips as well as rotation. Learn a format
on the Reformer perfect for your sports enthusiast clients
and athletes of all levels. LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Apply
the principles of STOTT PILATES to modified exercises
on the reformer. Challenge clients muscular system and
build endurance. Challenge abdominal stability and strengthen
upper and lower body. Learn cues and corrections for safety
and effectiveness. Understand how specific exercises can
address the needs of athletic conditioning. FORMAT: Workshop

Pilates with Props (MAUI) with Jayme Newhouse

STOTT PILATES® Pilates with Props, Level 1 This innovative
and upbeat Mat workout features some small props or ‘toys’
including the Flex-Band®, Fitness Circle® and Toning Balls
You’ll learn how to create a workout that’s sure to inspire
you and your clients alike. Focusing on strength and agility,
this routine will leave you feeling strong and streamlined
and will serve to improve your game – even if your game
is life! Learning Objectives: 1. Learn basic Matwork exercises
from the essential and intermediate levels. 2. Modify
these exercises with props including the Flex-Band® exerciser,
Fitness Circle® resistance rings and Toning Balls. 4.
Apply the STOTT PILATES principles of stabilization to
all exercises. 5. Cues and corrections to help ensure

Intensive Mat-Plus (MAUI) with Jayme Newhouse

Intensive Mat Plus - IMP (On the Island of Maui) IMP provides
you with the solid foundation and skills you need to develop
effective and motivating group and personal training programs.
This course teaches you to design and teach the Level
1 (Essential and Intermediate) Matwork repertoire, integrating
small equipment to add variety and meet the specific needs
of your clients. In addition to the general course objectives,
you will learn: Workout composition for personal and group
training Essential, Intermediate, Power workouts Flex-Band,
Fitness Circle and Arc Barrel workouts Effective communication
and observational skills, verbal cueing and imagery for
performance enhancement and client motivation Modifications
for specific body types, postural issues and conditions
How to incorporate resistance equipment to support and
intensify exercises Theory and practice of postural analysis
Exercise layering related to effective program design
63 exercises plus multiple modifications THIS COURSE IS
FRIDAYS 4-9:30PM AND SATURDAYS/SUNDAYS 8a-1:30pm FOR 3

Intensive Reformer Course (MAUI) with Jayme Newhouse
Dates: Mon , Tue , Wed , Thu , Fri 5/25/2009 - 6/5/2009
Time: 12:00 PM - 5:30 PM
Intensive Reformer - IR (MAUI) This course teaches you
how to design and instruct Level 1 (Essential and Intermediate)
reformer workouts in personal or group training settings
for a range of clients. While IR may be taken prior to
IMP, we recommend completing IMP first. In addition to
the general course objectives, you will learn: Effective
use of the reformer to enhance torso stability and strength,
peripheral extremity conditioning, joint stability, flexibility,
balance and coordination How to develop programs for personal
and group classes Essential, Intermediate, Power workouts
Effective communication and observational skills, verbal
cueing and imagery for performance enhancement and client
motivation Modifications for specific body types, postural
issues and conditions Theory and practice of postural
analysis Exercise layering related to effective program
design 122 exercises plus multiple modifications.
