Every Pilates program begins with a strong foundation in matwork.
This STOTT PILATES course will help you build your repertoire
from the ground up and teach client's body awareness before
they move on to spring-resistance equipment. You'll learn countless
modifications, how to cue for smooth transitions and incorporate
fitness accessories into mat-based programming.

Intensive Mat Plus - IMP (On the Island of Maui, Hawaii)
IMP provides you with the solid foundation and skills you need
to develop effective and motivating group and personal training
programs.
This
course teaches you to design and teach the Level 1 (Essential
and Intermediate) Matwork repertoire, integrating small equipment
to add variety and meet the specific needs of your clients.
In addition to the general course objectives,
you will learn:

Workout composition for personal and group
training

Essential, Intermediate, Power workouts

Flex-Band, Fitness Circle and Arc Barrel workouts

Effective communication and observational
skills, verbal cueing and imagery for performance enhancement
and client motivation

support and intensify exercises

Theory and practice of postural analysis

FOR 3 WEEKENDS
This course is held at Pilates Maui. The Friday classes are
from 4-9:30pm and Sat/Sun classes 8am-1:30pm.

Reformer Certification
The reformer is the most popular piece of equipment in Pilates.
In this course you'll learn how to use this highly versatile
tool to program and instruct personal and group classes with
confidence using hundreds of spring-resistance and matwork excercises.

Intensive
Reformer - IR (MAUI) This course teaches you how to design and
instruct Level 1 (Essential and Intermediate) reformer workouts
in personal or group training settings for a range of clients.
While IR may be taken prior to IMP, we recommend completing
IMP first.
In addition to the general course objectives, you will learn:

Effective use of the reformer to enhance torso
stability and strength, peripheral extremity conditioning,
joint stability, flexibility, balance and coordination

How to develop programs for personal and group
classes

Essential, Intermediate, Power workouts

Intensive Cadillac, Chair & Barrels - ICCB ICCB prepares
you to teach Level 1 (Essential and Intermediate) exercises
on the Cadillac Trapeze Table, Stability Chair, Ladder Barrel,
Spine Corrector and Arc Barrel. By the end of this course you
are able to fine-tune personal and circuit training programs
to meet a variety of clients' conditioning goals.
Beyond the general course objectives, you will learn

Injury
& Special Populations- ISP (MAUI) with Monique Lavoie
Dates: Sat, Sun, Mon, Tue 2/5/2009 - 2/8/2009
Workshop hours to be determined.
Injuries and Special Populations - ISP Learn to customize workouts
to address weaknesses, health conditions, postural problems
or injuries (but not to diagnose specific injuries).
Topics covered in this lecture/demonstration class include:

Approaches to rehabilitating an injured musculoskeletal
system
-
Anatomy and biomechanics, dysfunctions and
pathologies, and exercise modifications in the: lumbo-pelvic,
cervical, upper quadrant, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee,
ankle and foot regions
-
Pregnancy, fibromyalgia and other special
conditions plus workout design
-
Appropriate modification of Matwork, Reformer,
Cadillac, Stability Chair and Barrel exercises.
